1. A report on a road accident.

A serious/fatal/devastating/tragic/heart-rendering road accident at Dhaka–kushtia Highway.

                      4 killed on the spot and 20 others seriously/critically/mortally/severely injured

Staff correspondent,Kushtia 13 October, 2015 : A serious/fatal/devastating/tragic/heart-rendering road accident took place/occurred at Dhaka-kushtia Highway last evening at about /around /at 7.30.p.m. A Dhaka-bound bus collided head-on with a kushtia-bound truck near Kumarkhali bus-stand. Four people died/ were killed on the  spot and twenty others were  seriously/critically/mortally/severely injured. The dead people were identified and they were Faruk Hossain(34),Abbas Ali(41),Asad Islam(25) and Rahima Khatun(30).The injured people were taken to/sent to/admitted into the local hospital. The spot became very pathetic because their relatives cried loudly. On information, the police rushed to the spot. It is known/informed from local people/eye witness that the truck driver was drunkard and was driving recklessly and at last, lost control. The police arrested the bus driver but the truck driver fled from the spot. At last, a case was filed against the owners of the vehicles and the dead bodies were sent for autopsy.

A Car Accident on Dhaka-Manikgonj Highway

Five people were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Manikgonj highway under Manikgonj sadar upzila, Manikgonj yesterday morning.

The dead were Shahidullah 35, Karim 30, Halim 40 and others were unknown. Police and witness said the accident occurred between a tempo and a super service passenger bus Aricha Ghat.

The five people were coming home by the tempo from there working place. The three were the village of Baitora.

The other injured were admitted to Manikgonj Sadar Gov. Hospital.

Police seized the bus, but its driver and helper managed to flee.

Mominul Islam,Dhaka ,25 October, 2016: Drug addiction is one of the greatest problems in our country. The number of drug addicts is increasing in Bangladesh day by day. It is harmful enough to destroy the future of a country. There are some reasons behind drug addiction. Unemployment, frustration and availability of it are the main causes of drug addiction. It is reported that phensydyl, heroine, cocaine and yaba are easily available  in our country and that is why, many people are being addicted. Unemployed people, frustrated young boys and girls are being addicted to drugs. Dishonest businessmen and greedy politicians are getting benefits of this profitable business. By taking bribe, the police remain silent. Undoubtedly, it is a very dangerous problem because it is causing some serious problems in our country, such as hijacking, robbery, stealing, killing etc. It is a great threat to a country like Bangladesh. So, the government and the conscious people should come forward to solve this problem without any more delay.                 Or,

Drug Addicts Turning Desperate at Savar

Staff Correspondent, Savar, 12 December, 2011 : Most of the frustrated youths of Savar are now drug addicted. The rapid increase of their number now concerns all. Taking drug is now a fashion and recreation for them. Selling drug is now a good business. Its reckless deal has aggravated the situation with mysterious silence of the police. It includes phencidyle, opium and even heroine leading these deviated youths towards a fatal end. To buy these, they even commit pretty crimes endangering the social security of the people. The helpless people want to get rid of this problem. The attention of the government is drawn in this regard.

1.   Suppose, you are a news reporter of a TV channel. You have experienced an unexpected fire on a garment factory. Now write a report on it.

Shafiq,  ntv, Savar, 10 December, 2011: A devastating fire gutted Capital Garments, a large readymade garments factory, at Savar last night. There were 1500 workers in the factory. The fire was supposed to originate from electric short circuit. All the machines and goods inside the factory were burnt to ashes. Fire brigade and police appeared at the spot within a very short time. The fire fighters tried their best and managed to extinguish the fire within five hours. Even the people of all walks joined the rescue operation spontaneously. The fire claimed 3 lives and many were injured in the accident. The wounded were admitted into different hospitals. Total cost of property and goods was estimated to be nearly five crore taka. A case was filed in this connection and a five members committee had been made for thorough investigation.

(1) DUTIES OF A STUDENT

Man has three duties, duty towards Allah, duty towards parents and duty towards mankind. So students have certain duties to the society in which they live in.

Students in our country can give free service in different spheres of our national life. Most of the people of our country are illiterate. Students can open night schools and teach the illiterate people. They can remove illiteracy from our country. During the vacation they can go to villages and teach the village people.

Student’s service is necessary in the field of our national health. Female students can teach the uneducated women how to keep their houses neat and clean. They also can teach women how to bring up children and look after their health. The village people and the people living in the slums, suffer from many diseases. They have no knowledge about health and environment. Students can teach them about the basic rules of health and environment.

Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Her prosperity depends on agriculture. But the farmers of our country are illiterate. They have no knowledge about scientific method of cultivation. In this case students can teach the illiterate farmers.

Bangladesh is an over populated country. Most of the village people of our country family planning. They are unwilling to accept family planning. In this regard, students can render a good social service. They can explain to illiterate village people the need for adopting family planning.

During floods and cyclones and famine students stand by the affected people. Students can collect money from the rich, raise funds, save the affected people, feed the hungry, and nurse the sick and cloth the naked. During epidemics medical students and other students may serve the sick with proper food, cloth, medicine and other necessary things.

Students are the servants of society. They are the makers of society. They are the soldiers of social peace. They should serve society without any selfish motive.

(2) Wonder of Modern Science Life

Modern age is an age of science. Modern science is nothing but a skill magician. It has made our life easy and comfortable. One after one, it is providing the mankind with wonders. It has absolutely conquered the indomitable forces of nature. The wonders of modern science are not fully illustrated in a short composition.

Electricity is the first wonder of modern science. It is the first driving force of modern civilization. Electric-power is used for various purposes.  Without it, the advancement of modern science is Impossible. 

Computer is a fairly recent invention. It has now become an essential part of modern life. It is often contribution of modern science. There is hardly any sector in our life where we do not use computer. In agricultural, medical, educational, communication and transportation sectors, we have been able to attain great achievements with the help of computer.

Science has done miracle in the field of medical science.  It has enabled men to fight diseases effectively. In our time everyone hopes to live longer than his forefathers Biopsy and Ultrasonography, E.C.G, Ultra-Violet Ray, X-Ray and Penicillin are the wonders of modern science in the field of medical science. Besides, there are many other inventions of modern science against many other fatal diseases. 

Science has created wonders in the fields of communication. Telephone, telex, fax, wireless, telegram, E-mail etc. are great wonders. They have brought the world closer to us. We can send news from one corner o to another of the world within a few seconds.

Television, radio, face book, internet etc. are the main sources of mass communication as well as recreation. Television and radio are the popular mediums of communicating thoughts and opinions. At one hand, they broadcast the news of national and international affairs. On The Other hand, they are the chief Sources of entertainment. Likewise, internet provides us with all kinds of Information and recreation. Besides, Space travel and the invention of nuclear energy are the wonderful success of modern science.

Modern science is still increasing the number of wonders day After day. It is impossible to say what it can perform or not. It seems that it has started its journey not to be stopped any where at any time.

(3) The Rainy Season

There are six seasons in Bangladesh. Each season consists of two months. We hear new sounds and enjoy new scenes in each season. The rainy season is one of the best seasons in our country. The agriculture and the economy of our country mainly depend on the season. The rainy season comes after the summer.

Ashar and Shraban are the months of the rainy season. The rainy season starts in the middle of June and lasts up to the middle of September. During the rainy season the sky is often covered with clouds. The sun is not seen. In the rainy season it rains heavily. Sometimes it drizzles and sometimes it rains cats and dogs. The rivers, the canals and the ponds are full to the brim. The fields and the roads go under water the roads become muddy and slippery.  People can not move from one place to another. Those who have offices and other business go out with umbrella over the head. Sometimes people slip and fall on the muddy roads. Most of the students do not go to the school. Only a few students go to school because classes are not held on a rainy day. It is a day of great joy to them. So they remain indoors. They pass the time by gossiping, joking and playing.

Bangladesh is mainly an agricultural country. Her economy and prosperity depend on agriculture. Our agriculture depends on the rainy season. If there is sufficient rain, the joys of the farmers know no bound. They plough their lands and sow seeds in time. The farmers of our country can not get a good harvest if it does not rain in the proper time. Without rain water paddy, jute and other crops can not grow well in our country. Without rain water our agriculture is totally lifeless. So the rainy season is a blessing of nature. Heavy rainfall creates flood. Flood water carries a lot of silt (cwj gvwUi UzKiv) and it makes the soil fertile. As a result, paddy, jute, sugarcane and other crops grow in plenty.

Every season has some demerits. The rainy season has some demerits. During the rainy season it rains heavily in full swing. Heavy rainfall causes flood and bring about untold sorrows, sufferings and miseries. There is water everywhere. Roads become muddy and

Slippery. People can not go out. Normal activities of life are stopped. Students can not go to schools and colleges. People are to use umbrellas and move by boat. After flood different

The rainy is the most important and useful season in our country. It is an inseparable part of nature. It plays a vital role for our economy. This season has a different meaning the poets and imaginative type of people.
